BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Board is made up of tested individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen fields of endeavor. Being financial experts and seasoned industrialists, they make policies aimed at making the company a leader in the non-bank financial industry. They are:
Dr. Raymond C. Obieri, OON FCIB, MNIM
Chairman
Dr. Obieri, a fellow of Chartered Institute of Bankers, London, has over 37 years experience in Banking and Finance. This includes over twelve years service at First Bank of Nigeria PLC and eight years service at NAL PLC. Dr. Obieri attended executive training in first class institutions namely; IMD Switzerland, Harvard Business School, and Lagos Business School. He is the current Chairman of Intercontinental Bank PLC, a Director at Oasis Insurance Co. Ltd. and Wapic Insurance PLC among others. He retired as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer after leading Summit for 15 years and was appointed Chairman of SFC on 31/12/2001. He is the immediate past President of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.
Dr. Emmanuel O. Udoye
Vice Chairman
Dr. Udoye graduated from University of Oregon, USA in 1970 and obtained his Doctorate Degree at the University of Pacific, Stockton, California. He worked at various teaching hospitals before returning to Nigeria in 1978. He has been the Managing Director & Chief Executive of Emace Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Since 1988. General Manager - Associated Pharmaceutical Products Ltd. (MSD) Lagos, 1979 - 1988 during which the company witnessed tremendous growth all-round. He is Chairman of Oko Community Bank. He was Chairman of Summit Finance Company Ltd. from 1986-31/12/2001 when he voluntarily stepped down but agreed to continue to serve as Vice Chairman. He is a director in a number of other Companies.
Mr. Chukwudebelu I. Ezezika, B.Sc. (Hons), ARICS., ANIQS
Director
Mr. Ezezika is a distinguished and practicing Quantity Surveyor. He studied Building Economics (Quantity Surveying) at the Polytechnic the South Bank, London.
He served the firm of Osigwe Nwogu & Partners (1978 – 1983), Ministry of Defence (1984 – 1986) and Federal Ministry of Works and Housing (1987). He is the Managing Partner, Allied
Quantity Surveyors, Chartered Quantity Surveyors & Project Management Consultants, (1988 to date). He is well respected in the Quantity Surveying industry and is widely traveled. He joined the Board of Summit on 1st February, 2002. He is a distinguished member of Ikoyi Club 1938, Lagos.
Engr. G.E. Omene, (B.Sc, ARSM, DIC, FNSE, FInstD)
Director
Engineer Omene obtained a B.Sc (Mining Engineering) 1st Class Honours Degree from Imperial College of Science and Technology, London in 1965 and ARSM (Mining Engineering) Royal School of Mines, London with distinction. He also obtainedbmm a Postgraduate Diploma of Imperial College (DIC) in Petroleum Reservoir Engineering, with Distinction in 1966 from the same University.
Engr. Omene is a fellow of both the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals (FNISP) and the Institute of Directors (FInstD), as well as membership of many other professional bodies, including Society of Petroleum Engineering (MSPE), Nigerian Institute of Management (MNIM), Nigerian –British Chamber of Commerce, American Society of Mining Engineers (MNSME), among others.
He had a very prosperous career with Shell Nigeria which spanned over three decades from 1966-1997. He held various sensitive positions during his career and rose to become the General Manager and Deputy Managing Director, Lagos.
He was the pioneer MD/CEO of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Engr. Omene is on the Board of Fidelity Bank Plc, Star-Ap (Nig) Limited and chairs the board of Hydril TDPS Nigeria Limited.. He is also a renowned speaker, author and is presently the Chairman /CEO of Gladson Petrogas Limited, an energy consulting company.
